August 28, 2025 – The Viessmann Generations Group ("Viessmann"), a purpose-driven family company with a heritage of 108 years, announces a significant minority investment in the impact company everwave.

This strategic partnership supports Viessmann’s purpose to co-create living spheres for generations to come by backing sustainable and scalable solutions to global environmental challenges. everwave contributes to this mission primarily by improving water quality through technology-driven solutions that remove plastic waste from rivers before it reaches the oceans. It further supports several other key investment fields of Viessmann – including greenhouse gas reduction, health and well-being, and education and sciences. This is achieved by preventing emissions from decomposing plastic, improving hygienic conditions, and using AI-powered data analytics to foster environmental awareness and scientific insight.

The European Social Innovation and Impact Fund (ESIIF), KSK-Wagniskapital GmbH and existing everwave shareholders such as SistaAct GmbH are also participating in the growth round to further promote the scalability of the impact company.

everwave specializes in river-based plastic recovery technologies, using a combination of garbage collection boats, barriers, and manual clean-ups to intercept waste before it reaches the oceans. Their operations are supported by an AI-powered software that analyzes collected waste. This enables a rapid response to changes in waste distribution and targeted measures for elimination.

At the core of everwave’s business model is a certified plastic credit system, where each €1 funds the removal of 1 kg of plastic garbage from rivers. This allows corporate partners to take responsibility for their plastic footprints in a credible, audit-ready way.

Every year, 11 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans, mostly carried by rivers. everwave's approach addresses this challenge directly and effectively. Until today, the company has removed more than 2,000 tons of waste from waterways in countries including Thailand, Cambodia, and Albania, with further expansion into Southeast Asia underway.

everwave also builds on-the-ground recycling infrastructure through mobile sorting units and zero-waste centers, enabling collected materials to be recycled or processed locally.
